About The College

The Paschim Guwahati Mahavidyalaya is situated at Dharapur Chariali on the western outskirts of Guwahati, Assam, adjoining the National Highway No.37 on the way to the Lokapriya Gopinath Bardoloi International Airport, Guwahati. Approximately 4 kms. away from the Gauhati University the college is on the verge of The Deepar Bil, the only Ramsar Site in the North-East India and a world famous bird sanctuary. Under MOU intiative Department of Political Science have organised popular lecture on "Strengthening Democracy Through Good Governance", Resource person - Dr. Diganta Kalita, Faculty member Department of Political Science, B.P.C.College .The event highlighted the critical role of good governance in fostering a robust democratic system. Key speakers emphasized the importance of transparency, accountability, and the rule of law as foundational pillars for effective governance. They also discussed strategies to enhance citizen participation and ensure that democratic institutions are responsive and inclusive. The program underscored that good governance is essential for the sustainable development and well-being of society, encouraging all participants to actively contribute to these goals.
